Nexus Check Service Terms

Effective October 25, 2026

If you ordered before October 25, 2026, the October 24, 2026 version of these Terms applies to that order, except the section "Withdraw a permission or delete your data," which applies to every order.

These terms cover the free Nexus Check from Anchorpoint Medical Evidence, operated by Carson Bates doing business as Anchorpoint Medical Evidence ("Anchorpoint," "we," "us"). Questions: carson@anchorpointmedicalevidence.com.

What the Nexus Check includes

We review the records you provide and prepare a written report. The report shows supporting evidence, contrary evidence, missing or unreadable material, and where in your records each finding appears.

For a service-connection question, we look for evidence that supports a relationship between the condition and military service. For an increase in an existing rating, we look for evidence of current severity that corresponds to the higher rating criteria in 38 CFR. Matching severity criteria alone does not establish service connection.

The Nexus Check is a written records review. A nexus letter written for clinician review is a separate, optional service. We do not provide medical treatment, VA claims representation, claim filing, legal advice, or a prediction of any VA decision. Anchorpoint is independent of the VA.

Payment

The Nexus Check is free. We do not collect payment information for it, and it does not authorize any charge.

Submitting your records

After you sign up, we send a private Google Drive invitation to the email address authorized for your case. You can open and upload to the folder with any email address; a Google Account is not required. Do not email medical records, Social Security numbers, or VA file numbers.

You own the files you upload from your Google account. We make restricted working copies to prepare your Nexus Check. Under the schedule described in our Privacy Notice, we end access to the delivered report and delete the case files we control 90 calendar days after delivery, unless a specific legal obligation or exception applies. Download your report before then. You may ask us to delete your information sooner; deleting our copies does not delete files owned by your Google account.

If someone else signs you up for a Nexus Check, that does not give them access to your records or results. We confirm your permission before any other person receives access.

You choose which records to submit. There is no upload deadline. When your records are uploaded, email us to let us know they are ready for review. Any clear message works; you do not need to use specific words. Do not reply to Google's automatic invitation email, and do not include records or medical details in an ordinary email or text. We confirm which set of files we are reviewing. If files are missing, unreadable, or added later, tell us. New files do not quietly replace the set under review.

We use AI-assisted tools to organize and analyze records. Anchorpoint then checks every substantive statement in your report against your original records, looks for evidence the analysis missed or that contradicts it, and corrects errors before we deliver the report. Our Privacy Notice describes the information involved and the service providers we use.

Timing and delivery

There is no deadline to upload your records. After you tell us by email that your uploaded records are ready, we confirm the set you want reviewed. We make your report available through restricted access and email the authorized recipient within 2 days after we receive your ready message. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays as observed.

If a file cannot be opened or read, we tell you by the end of the first business day after your ready message. You may ask us to finish on the original deadline using the readable files, with the excluded files named in your report, or send replacements and mark the new set ready. Only your choice to include replacements starts a new deadline. If you do not reply, we proceed with the readable files on the original deadline. If none of the files can be read, the deadline starts when you mark readable replacements ready. Discovering an unreadable file later does not extend the original deadline.

If you add records after marking a set ready, tell us whether to include them in this report. If you choose to include them, mark the updated set ready and a new deadline starts. Otherwise, we finish the original set on its original deadline and identify the later records as not reviewed in that report.

You do not need every record from your lifetime to mark your submission ready. We deliver the report through restricted access, and send you an ordinary email to tell you it is available.

No charge

The Nexus Check is free. We deliver your report whether or not we find enough compelling evidence to write a nexus letter for your claim(s). Because nothing is charged, there is nothing to refund or credit.

Optional nexus letter

A nexus letter is optional. You order one by agreeing to these Terms and paying through the payment link we send you. The price of your first letter is the total shown on that payment link before you pay; current public prices are on our Prices page. That total covers the letter; there are no added fees. Getting a Nexus Check does not sign you up for a letter. Before we share your records with a clinician, we ask for your separate permission. If you withdraw that permission after you pay and before the clinician signs, we can't finish your letter, and we refund the full letter price.

We prepare a proposed letter and supporting citations. An independent licensed clinician reviews the evidence, and the medical conclusions in any signed letter are the clinician's own. The clinician signs only what they independently support. No payment guarantees a particular medical opinion, rating, or VA decision.

If your report identifies a supportable connection but no qualified clinician is yet available for your claim, we still deliver the report and tell you about the gap. We will notify you when a qualified clinician becomes available. We do not send a letter-payment link or accept letter payment before then.

Six-business-day letter guarantee

We guarantee delivery of your nexus letter by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the sixth business day after all three conditions are met: your permission to share your records with the clinician is on file, your letter payment has cleared, and a qualified clinician is assigned to your case. The day the last condition is met is day zero. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays as observed.

If the clinician requests additional information needed for the letter, the clock pauses while we await that information and resumes when it is received. We tell you when the clock pauses, when it resumes, and your revised deadline. If we miss the applicable deadline, we refund $100 to your original payment method and still deliver your letter. Your bank or card provider controls when the refund appears in your account. This delivery guarantee does not promise a particular medical opinion or VA outcome.

Response promise

If you contact us during our business hours and we do not respond the same day, you get 15% off your nexus letter. Our business hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 8 am to 2 pm, Pacific Time. A call attempt (whether or not you reach us), a voicemail, or a text message from us counts as a response. If you contact us outside our business hours, we respond on the next day we are open, and the 15% discount applies if we do not. The 15% comes off the first nexus letter you order and does not combine with another discount.

Free written response to a VA denial

Every paid nexus letter that is not refunded comes with one free written response to the first VA denial of a claim that used that letter. The response addresses the medical-nexus reasons stated in the denial. Whether to give any medical opinion or addendum is the clinician's own decision. This is not available for a letter we have refunded. We do not promise any VA decision or outcome.

To ask for it, email carson@anchorpointmedicalevidence.com or call (360) 347-2563. There is no deadline to ask.

Satisfaction guarantee on your nexus letter

If you are not completely satisfied with your nexus letter, tell us within 3 calendar days after the day we deliver the signed letter, by 11:59 PM Pacific on the third day. For example, if we deliver it on a Monday, you have until the end of Thursday. You don't need to give a reason. You can ask for either of these:

The refund is available only if the letter has not been submitted to the VA. When you take the refund, you agree not to submit or share the letter. The free written response to a VA denial does not apply to a refunded letter.

To ask, email carson@anchorpointmedicalevidence.com or call (360) 347-2563. Give your case reference, and please leave out medical details.

How this fits with our other promises:

This guarantee covers the letter. It is not a promise about any medical opinion, rating or VA decision. If the VA later denies your claim, the free written response above applies, unless the letter was refunded.

Text messages

We send text messages only to people who opt in. To opt in, you check the box on our text message consent page and then personally send us the prepared consent text from your mobile phone, or send the same wording by hand. Checking the box or opening your message app is not consent; your consent takes effect only when your text reaches us. Signing up for a Nexus Check, buying a nexus letter, agreeing to checkout terms, booking a call or sending us any other message does not sign you up for texts. Texting is optional and is never a condition of buying or receiving any service.

If you opt in, Anchorpoint Medical Evidence (Carson Bates, doing business as Anchorpoint Medical Evidence) may text you from (360) 347-2563 about your order, records status, report delivery, call scheduling, billing and support. We don't send marketing texts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Text STOP at any time to stop receiving texts. Texting HELP returns opt-out instructions; for help, email carson@anchorpointmedicalevidence.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Our text message privacy terms explain how we handle your number and consent.

Never text medical records, medical details, Social Security numbers or claim numbers. Upload records only in your private folder.

Questions and privacy

Email info@anchorpointmedicalevidence.com with any question about your Nexus Check or nexus letter. Include your case reference, not medical details. Our Privacy Notice and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explain how we handle your information and how to make a privacy request.

Governing law

Washington State law governs these Terms and any dispute about our services, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. This does not take away any right you have under the law of the state where you live that cannot be waived by agreement.

Talk to us first

If you have a problem with our service, email info@anchorpointmedicalevidence.com or call (360) 347-2563 and tell us what happened and what you would like us to do. Before either of us starts a court case, the person starting it sends the other a written notice by email describing the problem and then waits 30 days. We send our notices to the email address you gave us. This step does not apply to small claims cases or privacy requests, and it never delays a refund, discount or other remedy these Terms already give you.

Small claims

Either of us may bring an individual case in small claims court if the case qualifies under that court's rules. The court's own rules decide what qualifies.

Limit on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Anchorpoint's total liability to you for all claims about our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the service the claim is about. This limit does not apply to refunds, discounts or other amounts we owe under the guarantees and promises in these Terms. Those amounts are not capped and do not count toward the limit. The limit also does not apply to anything the law does not allow us to limit. That can include liability for fraud or for harm we cause on purpose. It does not take away rights you have under consumer protection or privacy laws that cannot be waived. We do not control VA decisions, and nothing in these Terms promises any VA outcome.

If part of the Terms can't be enforced

If a court decides that any part of these Terms cannot be enforced, that part is limited or removed only as much as needed, and the rest of the Terms stay in effect.

Entire agreement

These Terms, our Privacy Notice, our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, and the guarantees in these Terms and at checkout are the whole agreement between you and Anchorpoint about our services. The permission choices you make before uploading records are separate from these Terms, and these Terms don't change them.

Withdraw a permission or delete your data

You can withdraw a permission you gave us, or ask us to delete your health data, at any time. Email info@anchorpointmedicalevidence.com with the subject "Privacy request." We respond within 45 days after we receive your request. If we need more time, we can extend that once by another 45 days, and we will tell you. When we delete your data, we notify the clinicians, processors and other third parties who have it, and they must honor the request. Copies in backups can take up to six months to clear.

No arbitration

These Terms do not require arbitration. You can bring a claim in court, including small claims court.
